Months ago (when I got my new laptop), I downloaded a FireFox add-on to use for posting to my LiveJournal and MySpace without having to log on and use each site’s entry page. I hadn’t used it in a while because I’m over “blogging” at both sites. They’re still there, but I rarely check MySpace and the LJ is …dead. Really. And last night (before the “OMG I’m going to die, take me to the ER, I have a kidney stone, what do I do, what do you mean ‘let it pass’?” incident) I was going through my FF add-ons and weeding out the ones I never use. I tossed a few themes and various tools before I came upon this gem.

I decided to try and see if it worked for blogging to WordPress. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Emily, seriously? You need an add-on to post to WP when all you have to do is create a bookmark toolbar link to the login of your WP?” Answer: Yes. I am very active when I’m online and if I can save myself a tab or two, I’m very appreciative! Plus, this add-on has the capability to cross-post to several different sites! I could type once, edit once, and send it to 8 different sites if I wanted to! That just touches the heart of my inner techgeek. It doesn’t slow me down, saves drafts, allows rich text editing, conforms to the active theme, and makes me smile! What more could you ask for? Oh, and if you said, “Well, it could pay you”, IT DOES! Or..can. Plus you can preview, FTP, share, add video, insert pictures, add links, customize the HTML/CSS of your post, use delicious bookmarks, and soooo many more things! I have two more words for you: LIVE PREVIEW!

So, you ask, what’s this add-on? ScribeFire! It’s such a great thing! Especially if you have several sites you post on (and provided that you don’t know of another program or add-on with this capability).
